Boosting Acceptance Rates

Boosting Acceptance Rates

Making it clear where to invest your efforts.

Every prospective student reaches a point where interest turns into intent. Finding that point is harder than it used to be.

Many registrars are able to quote their admissions yield rate to the decimal yet still aren’t sure which of the dozens of things they did last cycle actually produced it.

That crucial decision happens somewhere between a first campus search and a final decision, mostly on screens, and mostly out of your sight. The signals are there, but they're scattered through so much activity that the ones that *mattered* are hard to pick out from the ones that didn't.

CRI's Tipping Points study is built to find them. It identifies where a student moves from "exploring options" to "intending to enrol", and which of your touchpoints did the most to get them there.

The findings come in two parts:

Perception opportunities show you where your strengths and weaknesses sit in the minds of the students you're recruiting.
Action opportunities show you where a specific push – a message, an event, a piece of content – is most likely to move someone to act.

One tells you what to fix, the other tells you where to spend.

Dan Seneker, AVP Enrolment and University Registrar at Saint Mary’s University, puts it this way:

“At Saint Mary’s University, we use the CRI Tipping Points STUDY to pinpoint what actually drives student decisions.

That clear, evidence-based insight has changed how we allocate resources, how we message, and where we focus our energy.

As a result, our strategy is clearer, our engagement is more intentional, and our enrolment results reflect that. No more guesswork!”
